Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Appointment of a suitable service provider for the provision of trailer and bus recovery/towing services, accident scene clearing and rehabilitation as and when required. Scope: The successful bidder shall: • Recover breakdown vehicles throughout the routes travelled by Autopax buses in the SADC Region; • A bidder may indicate province(s) of interest/coverage; • Recover buses at accident/breakdown scene(s), moving buses within/between depot(s); this may include lifting and rigging where necessary; • Towing of buses and trailers to predetermined and agreed locations; • Lift buses on flatbed trucks to predetermined and agreed locations; • Clearing of debris at the accident scene; • Rehabilitation of accident scene as per applicable regulations e.g. removal of oil and fuel residue; • Take and submit photos of the accident scene before and after recovery for use by Autopax in their accident investigations; • All mechanical parts that may be removed to allow the bus to be towed must be returned to Autopax on delivery of the bus; • Brand protection as part of the towing service must be adhered to which includes covering of buses and/or branding during the process of towing; • The successful bidder shall have sufficient insurance to cover damage or destruction to any or all Autopax’s property incurred in the performance of its services to Autopax; • Any toll fees incurred during the provision of towing services must be quantified and supporting documents must be provided when invoicing Autopax; • Provide high-quality workmanship to Autopax as per industry standards (RMI); • Strict adherence to the lead times within acceptable radius and beyond. 1-2 hours dispatching time; • To act responsibly and be accountable when working on the vehicles in order to avoid damage to property; • Shall minimize consequential damages as a result of the towing services; • Relevant industry experience in heavy duty recovery and proof shall be required; • Autopax operates vehicles and trailers (5-7 Tons) with a gross weight of more than 24 tons (Mercedes Benz 0500, MAN HB4 with 3 axles). All towing vehicles must be specified to carry such weight on the national and regional roads; • In case where Traffic Officials instructed a 3rd party to tow a vehicle, a service provider will negotiate and carry the costs which will be billed to Autopax; • A service provider must render roadside assistance with equipped and functional towing vehicles, 24hrs a day, 7 days a week and 365 days per year; • Where a service provider doesn’t have a footprint, a bidder must form partnership/subcontract or make alternative arrangements with close partners to adhere to quicker turnaround time. A list of the contractor/contractors per area must be made available to Autopax personnel in a form of writing with contact details; • Perform Bus and Trailer Recovery/Towing services, accident scene clearing and rehabilitation. Recovery may include buses or trailers without wheels where a bidder may have to provide dummy wheels and/or a lowbed trailer; • A service provider must provide a delivery note with check list e.g. batteries, control units, radio, missing items, etc. The project will cover SADC Region. This project is targeted at Recovering/Towing services, accident scene clearing and rehabilitation in the SADC Region where Autopax is operating.
