Tenders are hereby invited for the Tholamela Water Supply Phase 2. The scope of work can be summarized as follows: • Clear and grub vegetation and topsoil removal to a depth of 150 mm for re-use. Re-use of topsoil will minimize erosion in the pipeline route; • Excavation of trenches to a maximum depth of about 1.5 m for the installation of pipelines; • Installation of approximately 88.17 km of pressure pipelines, ranging in diameter from 50 mm to 200 mm diameter PVC-M, HDPE and steel pipelines; • Construction of connections to the existing Reservoirs; • Installation of approximately 461 standpipes; • Installation of marker posts along pipeline route; • Construction of valves and associated works; • Disinfection and commissioning of pipelines; • Cleaning and rehabilitation; • Maintenance of the above for a period of 12 months after the issue of the Certificate of Completion; • Compliance to all relevant regulations relating to Health & Safety and Environmental Management Acts.
