Proposals are hereby invited for the following: Appointment of a funeral service provider to provide Transnet with group funeral insurance benefits for all Transnet employees for a period of five (5) years. Detailed scope of work: a) In view of the above, the successful bidder must be able to provide a group funeral insurance benefit and administration and management of all aspects of the group funeral insurance benefit insurance scheme. The bidder must have experience in providing a Group Funeral Benefit Insurance solution to corporate clients with more than 20 000 members per client in the last 5 years. b) The group funeral insurance benefit will include, but will not be limited to the following: • Coverage for funeral expenses in the event of the death of an employee/spouse/dependent child/stillborn child without any limitation on the number of claims payable in respect of spouses and dependent children including legally adopted children; • Repatriation of remains within the borders of the RSA, if necessary; • Specify any limitations/exclusions if applicable; • The service provider must have an established claims management system and efficient claims management process; • The service provider must have a national footprint; • The service provider must demonstrate the ability to ensure a turnaround time of 48 hours from the time that the claim is registered and all relevant and supporting documents have been submitted until payment of the benefit into the bank account of the member/beneficiary; • Service provider to submit proof of payment to Transnet within 24 hours after payment has been effected; • Submit monthly and weekly reports in respect of new claims, open/outstanding (not yet finalised) claims and reasons for the delay in finalising these claims and completed claims - overall Transnet view as well as reports per Operating Division and Transnet Corporate Centre; • Review on an annual basis the cost and benefit structure with a view to improve on current offering and provide timeous communication regarding any changes; • Accurately maintain member and immediate family members database of completed claims to avoid duplicate claims; • Provide dedicated Key Account Manager and support team for ongoing support, which will include resolving queries, offering comprehensive claim administration, providing advice to employees on a national basis, and managing contributions schedules with Transnet payroll; • Provision of differentiated service and communication platforms e.g. dedicated e-mail address; call centre; • Benefit options to be provided as detailed in the Pricing Schedule for employee and spouse with the applicable sliding scale for qualifying dependent children and the associated premium per option; • Provide details of a profit-share scheme whereby the profit on annual premiums is shared with Transnet together with the sharing percentages between Transnet and the service provider; • Provide a detailed implementation plan including enrolment procedures, communication strategies, and any necessary training or orientation sessions that may be required; • Provide details of the additional value-add offerings included in the premiums, if any.
