Re-Advertisement: The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) hereby invites quotations for the appointment of a service provider for the modification of furnace (SANS 10177-3) to allow continuation of testing. Scope of Works: Installation: Refurbishment of this furnace should include data logger capability of logging at least 5 type-K thermocouples able to log voltages (for smoke density meters). Must also include software able to download recorded data in spreadsheet (MS excel) format. The equipment should be able to reach the calibration temperatures required by the standard (SANS 10177-3). The refurbishment should include hardware and software capable of capturing the following: • Spread of flame; • Heat Contribution; • Smoke emission; Calibration: The provider will be required to calibrate the machines using SANAS accredited lab and verify the interfacing between machines and the Software.
