Project Impact: • The ICT equipment provided to schools will be fully utilized; • Teachers and learners will be provided with ICT technical support; • Schools implementing coding and robotics will have human resources who will assist learners during and after school. Tenders are hereby invited for the appointment of accounting firms to assist the Kwazulu-Natal Department of Education Infrastructure Unit with final accounts and transfer of immovable assets to Department of Public Works for a period of three years (36 months) with an option to extend for two years (24 months). Scope of work includes among other the following: • Address prior year audit matters as raised by the Auditor General; • Confirm and assist in ensuring that completed projects closing balance agrees to the supporting documents on projects files; • Check and verify final accounts prepared by implementing agents or their appointed service providers; • Prepare and manage agreement of final accounts; • Monitor, review, and issue final payment certificates; • Manage preparation of as-built drawings and documentation where requested; • Prepare and present the close-out report; • Administer the transfer of completed projects to the KZN Department of Public Works; • Confirm and assist in ensuring that the commitment balances for infrastructure agree to supporting documents on project files; • Confirm and assist in the correct disclosure of commitments for the management fees for implementing agents; • Confirm and assist that the retention monies are accounted for correctly; • Review the guarantee amounts and agree to the contract sum of the project; • Review all infrastructure accruals to ensure the correct accounting treatment and disclosures; • Provide technical support on infrastructure accounting and reporting matters that head office or district offices may be dealing with; • Respond and resolve audit requests and audit queries relating to infrastructure.
