Bids are hereby invited for the appointment of a professional service provider to undertake the execution of the upgrades to bulk water infrastructure and reticulation system at the Bethesda District Hospital – Ubombo Village, Umkhanyakude District. Scope: The scope of the project will include the following: i. Upgrading of existing water storage tanks and the construction of additional water storage tanks to provide 5-day water storage for the facility as well as to cater for the future expansion for a total of 480 patient beds and 400 staff members; ii. The replacement or repairing of the existing hospital water reticulation, where currently not functioning, and in addition, new water reticulation to supply water to the proposed facilities as per the regionalization project; iii. Groundwater investigation and installation to achieve a minimum of 80% of the Annual Average Daily Demand (AADD) of water; iv. Implementing rainwater harvesting with adequate holding tanks for non-portable water use and treated potable water; v. Upgrading of the hospital"s internal infrastructure to meet the Regional Hospital demand in the next 10 years and beyond; vi. Adequate and suitably qualified personnel through an external contract to operate the water infrastructure, conduct water quality tests, purify borehole water and provide training to the facility management upon the construction project completion for a minimum of 5 years.
