Formal Written Price Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Conduct a Comprehensive Disaster Risk Assessment to inform the Development of a Level 1 Disaster Management Plan for Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. Scope: The successful service provider shall be expected to: 1. Identify, analyze and priorities known threats including communities at risk (CARs) within the Metro; 2. Develop and put in place contingency plans for responding to known priority threats as identified. The activities to be undertaken must include but not limited to the following: (a) Identify high-risk areas in communities; (b) Ground-truthing, data updates and data gathering; (c) Adaptation of investigation methods; (d) Hazard identification and analysis, and (e) Vulnerability assessment and common vulnerabilities; (f) Institutional, individual and societal capacity assessment; (g) Define and applying GIS requirements for known threat including communities at risk (Cars); (h) Development of current reality assessment; (i) Establish foundational institutional arrangements for disaster risk management; (j) Develop and implement response and recovery contingency plans for known priority risks; (k) Develop the capability to generate a Level 2 Disaster Risk Management Plan; (l) Identify key governmental and other stakeholders and outline respective roles and responsibilities and assess their capacities. SANParks seeks to appoint a suitable qualified panel of service providers to perform Asbestos assessments as per the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and the Asbestos Abatement Regulations, 2022. Requirements for the Service Provider: • Conduct a risk assessment to determine the classification of asbestos-containing material. (i.e. blue, white, or brown asbestos, etc); • Subsequently when the quantification and classification assessment is completed to define the type of asbestos-containing material. (i.e., Type 1, 2, or 3) to be undertaken during the remedial work; • Develop feasible and cost-effective asbestos mitigation options and plans for each identified asset including prices for disposal of asbestos waste at registered hazardous landfill sites and estimate the total financial implications; • The assessments are to be conducted in line with but not limited to the applicable health and safety and environmental legislative requirements and standards; • Detail the conclusion and recommendations based on classification.
