Information is requested for the following: Radio production and broadcast studios. The purpose of the Request for Information (RFI) is to provide the United Nations (UN) with the latest knowledge and capabilities of the market with respect to the latest technologies, solutions, systems, potential vendors with respect to the provision of radio production and broadcast studios. The gathered information will be used to determine the technologies feasibility, scope, cost estimate, timeframe and resources required by the UN. The primary objectives of the RFI are to understand the current market offerings for the radio broadcast systems, identify potential suppliers with the capability to deliver and support such systems and to gather information on technical specifications, features, and costs associated with these systems. Interested vendors shall provide the following information that meets the following requirements: • Containerized broadcast and production studios: The system should be plug and play based. It should incorporate the latest technology and be housed in a container that can host 4 to 6 guests and 2 hosts, be transported and instantly deployed in various UN field locations. It should be durable and scalable; • Non containerized broadcast, production and drama/music studios: It should contain an itemized list of all the equipment and accessories required to build a broadcast studio incorporating the latest technology, including mixer consoles, acoustic materials, acoustic doors, microphones, headphones, audio cables, audio connectors, amplifiers, speakers, processing equipment and other audio accessories etc.; • FM Transmission systems: - High power FM transmitter systems with power from 1KW to 5KW with transmitter, appropriate antenna system, cables and connectors and other accessories etc. Coverage area should be supported by EIRP diagram; - Low powered FM transmitter systems with power from 100 W to 500W with appropriate antenna system, cables and connectors and other accessories etc.; - Very low powered FM transmitter systems with power from 10W to 100W, solar powered and hybrid power system, with appropriate self-cooled all weather equipment outdoor rack, antenna system and cables and connectors and other accessories etc.; • Studio Systems for radio broadcasting, production, music and drama: Specifications for studio equipment, including audio consoles, microphones, recording devices, and any other necessary studio components; • Audio over IP: Information on the integration and capabilities of audio over IP systems for efficient and flexible audio distribution; • Internet Radio Services: Details on internet radio services, including service providers, equipment, streaming capabilities, server requirements, and any associated software; • Satellite Radio Services: Specifications for satellite radio services, including service providers equipment, compatibility, coverage, and any additional equipment required; • Interoperability: The system must be compatible with existing UN communication systems and infrastructure. Please provide details on how your solution ensures interoperability; • Training: Information on training programs for UN personnel to operate and maintain the broadcast radio system; • Spares and Supplies: Availability and provision of spare parts and supplies necessary for the operation and maintenance of the various radio broadcast systems; • Types of Towers: Information on the types of towers suitable for broadcast radio systems, including guyed masts, self-supporting towers, and monopole towers; • Coaxial Cables: Details on the types of coaxial cables used for broadcast radio systems, such as hardline, radiating, and RG-6 cables; • Antenna Systems: Specifications for various antenna systems, including dipole, Yagi-Uda, and parabolic antennas; • Solar Powered System: Specifications for solar powered systems to support the broadcast equipment; • Satellite Broadcast System: Specification for C Band and Ku Band Satellite systems.
