Quotations are hereby invited for the provision of basic fire fighting training. Specifications: Provision of Basic Fire Fighting Training: Unit Standard 12484: Perform basic fire fighting. Demonstrate competencies according to the following outcomes: • An understanding of procedures for dealing with fires in the workplace, • Use of appropriate firefighting equipment to extinguish or control fires in the workplace. Course Objectives: • Discuss and explain procedures for dealing with fires in the workplace, • Identify the type of fire, its context and select the appropriate fire-fighting procedure, • Identify, select and check appropriate firefighting and safety equipment, • Fight containable/extinguishable fires, • Retreat from fire site and hand over to appropriate personnel, • Report/record status of fire and equipment. Note: Training provider to provide venue within eThekwini Municipality, including refreshments. Proficiency Certificates (hard copies) to be provided on completion of training.
