Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Appointment of a service provider to provide training for an accredited herbicide applicator course based on Unit Standard (123134) titled "Apply herbicide to noxious weeds" (NQF Level 1; Credits 3). Training is to be provided for 960 EPWP project participants of the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs. Scope of work: The following scope of works/methodology/deliverables are applicable and must be complied with: 1. The appointed training service provider will be expected to render training on herbicide applicator course based on Unit Standard ID: 123134 “Apply herbicide to noxious weeds” at NQF Level 1; Credits 3, for 960 IASP project workers/participants. Furthermore, the appointed Training Service Provider will be expected to assess the unit standard according to the specific outcomes and assessment criteria as outlined by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA); 2. The Bidder will be expected to demonstrate understanding and competency for the project scope and deliverables by providing a detailed proposed training methodology that will be followed in rendering the training; 3. The training is to be provided to 960 project workers that have been appointed to work in projects involved in chemical control of invasive alien plants. The training will be conducted for 32 project groups. The training ratio shall be 1:30, meaning one (1) facilitator per 30 participants; 4. Duration: The appointed Training Service Provider will be required to render the training course for three-days respectively for each group of 30 participants. The overall training programme is expected to run for six (06) months, after signing of the SLA. The actual training workshops must last four months, while the other two months shall be dedicated to internal and external moderation, uploading of the learners onto the SETA NLRD system and certification process. 5.
